During the Studio Rehearsal, I was Floor Director Assistant and Floor Director. When I was being the Assistant, I got my job done really quickly so with the permission of the Floor Director, I helped out the Audio Assist (A2) set up all the microphones and intercoms. As Floor Director, I learned quickly being in this role means that you are the one bridge keeping the flow going, so communication is key. Three things I learned in total: Organization, Communication and Efficiency.

The 14 Clauses of the Canadian Code of Advertising Standards

At BCIT, we have a course called, Writing for Television! When writing a script for a commercial, we got to know what is set for the criteria of acceptable advertising. They span the following areas:

 1. Accuracy and Clarity
 2. Disguised Advertising Techniques
 3. Price Claims
 4. Bait and Switch
 5. Guarantees
 6. Comparative Advertising
 7. Testimonials
 8. Professional or Scientific Claims
 9. Imitation
 10. Safety
 11. Superstition and Fears
 12. Advertising to Children
 13. Advertising to Minors
 14. Unacceptable Depictions and Portrayals

One of the things that surprised me when learning from this course is that in Canadian Beer Commercials, you don't see anyone drinking the product at all!
